all the tenderness of a rotten tomato

This is copied from the very personal email that Guero sent to Jessica for her birthday:

Another year passes. Here's a few things about getting old (older)
Your (wiring) in your brain starts wearing out and you start forgetting things.
Your bowels lose strength and you start having accidents.
Your skin loses tension, hence the wrinkles and the sagging and the itching.
Your bones start wearing down and making noises therefore causing pain.
Your ears and eyes stop doing their job, then you can't see or hear (well) so you think people are trying to eat your Jell-O or you think they are talking behind your back or you think everything is a conspiracy.
You become very cranky, paranoid, and confined: which leads to more people thinking you are weird and not wanting to be around you.
For some reason you start smelling bad.
Your pants get closer and closer to your chin
You start having to eat more fiber so your butt does not hurt so much when you go.
Your dogs keep getting old and dying. Nothing good obviously
And your prescriptions keep getting more expensive every time.
Anyways good thing Wil married you and will not suffer the indignity of living at my parents house forever while getting older and grouchier.
Its a good thing he found someone that will love him when all these things happen to him and will stay with him even though she will be more marketable and can get a younger husband at an older age then the wrinkled sack of potatoes he is to become.
Thank you for loving him.
Happy birthday.
Enjoy every minute of it.
Guero

My two cents:
Please remember a few things...
one... Guero is OLDER than Wil by a number a years.
two... I, TOO, am MUCH MUCH MUCH younger than my husband (6 whole weeks!!)
three... years of experience with him have taught me - the fact that he said anything at all means he really loves her.
