He is a double digit baby

JJ is ten months old.

He woke up one morning last week and decided that it was time to tell us that he has known how to crawl for months.

JJ has started to eat solid foods. I especially love when he stays awake long enough to eat dinner with us at the table. He loves fruit and veg just like Karina, but he is partial to starch... just like mom and dad. He loves a piece of bread or cookies or crackers.

He is getting into EVERYTHING. If it is dirty, unwashed, or disgusting - He wants to eat it. He is highly motivated to crawl when he sees an especially disgusting pair of flip flops lying around. He loves to play with the bottom of the broom. Seriously - where do you hide a broom?!

He is an escape artist. He has issues with being contained. He does not like to use blankies or even wear pajamas. He has begun a diaper resistance movement - army of one. He likes to liberate things that he feels are imprisoned... like a gigantic box of helpless colored pencils, or a box of cereal with thousands of trapped and unhappy Cheerios inside.

He is already showing his athletic prowess. He is teaching us baby gymnastics. He keeps his feet on the floor, puts his head down and sticks his behind straight up.

He has realized that sharing stinks.

He is very entertaining. He loves to sing and to make you laugh. Tita is thrilled that he is finally picking up her songs (with accompanying gestures... Papas y Papas and Que sele Quema.

He has no interest in defying gravity yet. I am so grateful for the tender mercies...
