I had a tiny rabbit once, his name was Patas. I bought him at the fanciest pet store (in Scottsdale!).
He had grey fur and floppy ears and big patas.
I paid a high price for Patas, but he was not my bunny to keep.
He got sick, went to sleep and never woke up.
Now Patas is not too tiny any more.
He is a leader among leaders.
He is right hand man to Moroni, and an eternal Elder spreading the truthfulness of the Gospel. He spends his mornings meeting the never-ending list of family members that have been sealed for time and eternity in the Holy Temples of our Lord, and his afternoons teaching those that still can be. He spends evenings teasing (torturing) cousins and siblings to come... just like Daddy would have him to do.
Without his sacrifice Karina's life might look a little different. There would be no top bunk, no sitting in the front seat, no Daddy/Buds time at work with the rest of Daddy's guys.
Without his sacrifice JJ would never be held up at Costco as the only boy in a sea of pigtails, he wouldn't be the first to get Daddy's experimental haircuts and he might have to fight for his share of the matchbox cars.
Without his sacrifice, Mommy and Daddy would not be the loving, overprotective, fastidious parents that we are.
Without his sacrifice, Karina and JJ might not even be.
So, today we will celebrate that he was... by eating steak, because Daddy knows that is his favorite.
